It's opening day for POWER-GEN 2009 and what a difference a day makes. Today's crisp and clear weather could not be more different than yesterday's dismal drizzle and, judging from the breakfast line at Hilton's Paradise Cafe, exhibitors stand ready and eager to do business--recovery or no recovery. If you're attending the show, be sure to visit the EGSA On-Site Power Pavilion for the largest single collection of On-Site Power Generation equipment manufacturers and service providers in the world this year. Now that the EGSA booth is set up, I've retreated to the relative warming comfort of my laptop to catch up on a few tasks. It's been several years since I attended POWER-GEN in Las Vegas, and I am disappointed to find that I forgot how bone-chilling cold set-up can get with 30-foot loading dock doors open to the elements. If poor weather translates into higher attendance, you can count on a busy opening tomorrow
