EGSA Committees

Committees in ActionEGSA Committees are composed of volunteer EGSA members who contribute their knowledge and time to forward the Association's activities. Committees meet twice a year - during the Spring and Fall Conferences - to review projects in their zone of responsibility and recommend actions to the Board of Directors.

Standing Committees

Codes & Standards Surveillance Committee

Responsible for discussing and acting on all of the national industry codes and standards, and publishing information that EGSA membership shares. Actions are accomplished through alerts to membership and active participation by an EGSA staff representative who has been assigned to participate on certain key standards representing the EGSA membership, i.e. NPFA 70, 99, 110, 111, IEEE color books and many others.

Communications & Conventions Committee

Develops content for the Assocaition's conventions and publications, with primary emphasis on appealing to all membership categories.

Distributor/Dealer Council

Develops and recommends programs and methods to the Board of Directors for involving and addressing the specific needs of Distributor/Dealers

Education Committee

Develops and monitors training courses, oversees the On-Site Power Schools curricula and performance, and implements new educational programs. Develops and updates an improved 5th Edition of On-Site Power Generation -- A Reference Book with guidance and input from the EGSA membership.

Government Relations Committee

Establishes liaison with the military and reports to the Market Opportunities Committee on all matters and requirements as they relate to or affect present and future electrical generating systems, ground support, load banks, distribution and environmental equipment performance and usage.

International Trade Committee

Periodically analyzes the world market for equipment and service provided by the EGSA membership and monitors and forcasts economic and political trends that would affect this trade. Promotes export programs, participation in trade shows and an increasing involvement in international trade by EGSA members.

Marketing Trends Committee

Develops and recommends programs and methods to the Board of Directors for compilation of statistical information on the engine generator set industry. Enhances marketing knowledge of trade, product sales, growth rate, and statistical data required to assist contributing Association members to accomplish their objectives.

Membership Committee

Markets the Association to new members and promotes membership retention. Creates means of interesting industry firms in becoming members and in being active in the organization. Responsible for making new members feel a part of the organization.

Ad Hoc Committees

Reference Book Editorial Subcommittee

A subcommittee of the Education Committee, this committee is charged with updating On-Site Power Generation -- A Reference Book to it's 5th edition.

Certification Committee

Verify that certification activities are consistent with the program’s objectives, oversee the administration and management of the program, formulate recommendations for program improvements, and consider appeals that have been registered and render appropriate decisions.
