Welcome from 2015 EGSA President Ed Murphy

Ed Murphy
Welcome! On behalf of your EGSA Board of Directors, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2015 Spring Conference website portal. Not only do we have an exciting Conference planned, but we will also be kicking off our 50th Year in high gear. We sincerely hope you will join us!

Everything about the Conference is here within this micro-site, or will be here, as the details are being refined and updated. This site will allow you to register for the event, select your Committee attendance, register for a social activity and purchase a tabletop display; it is a one-stop shop for all things conference-related. The site also reduces costs for expenses like printing and mailing while reducing our carbon footprint.

Now that you have the information, I hope we can count on you to act! Join us March 22 – 24th in Jacksonville, FL where EGSA will host our 50th annual Spring Conference. The Communications & Conferences Committee did a terrific job selecting the theme, “Bridging the Past, Powering Our Future” and connecting it to our celebration of 50 years!

Why Come to Jacksonville?

Joe Castillo

Meet Joe Castillo.  Long before becoming a finalist on America’s Got Talent, Joe Castillo was captivating audiences around the world. His stories bring a lump in the throat, his art brings tears to the eyes and the message grips the heart.

Prepare to experience something different for EGSA 50th Anniversary! Joe Castillo is the most creative, innovative and unique *SandStory artist in the world. His art background, his charisma and experience make him, without question, one of the most unique talent acts we’ve ever had!

A native of Mexico City, Joe grew up surrounded by art and the cosmopolitan culture of an international city. In his teenage years he moved to Florida, attended Ringling School of Art, and graduated from Florida Bible College. Starting his career as a Christian businessman, he founded The Advertising Library, an agency in Knoxville, Tennessee. After 21 years in advertising, he returned to school and received a M.A. in Biblical Studies and M. Div. from Asbury Theological Seminary.  He pastored a church for five years. Now with his wife Cindy, Joe travels speaking and performing full time.

The most compelling new art form in decades!

Sand scattered on a light box is formed and reformed into ever changing shapes and images that tell visually powerful stories. Choreographed to music these images inspire, challenge and motivate in a captivating way.  Joe Castillo is certainly the premier “SandStory” in the world today!
